Instagram has been experimenting with hiding likes under posts for some time now. Some users have already stopped seeing likes under posts for some time. The social network wants users to post content that they really want to share. Less content that is promising or is expected of them.
With this step, Instagram wants to make using the app more enjoyable. You should feel comfortable on the platform and not be under constant pressure to get more likes than someone else or a previous post.
The number of likes will still be visible to the creator of the post. However, it will no longer be visible to users who see the post.
First of all, you will be able to decide for yourself whether likes are displayed or not. You can already determine this when you send your post.
