One of the great conflicts of modern times. Unresolved and fuelled by the fact that even the inventor Steve Wilhite prefers the less common pronunciation d͡ʒɪf.
The fact is: the format that was thought to be dead is currently experiencing a strong resurrection! Not least thanks to services such as GIPHY and its use in social media (stories, WhatsApp and comments).
