
One thing is crucial for the successful marketing of your service, product or brand: SELL IT YOURSELF.
If you are convinced of what you are offering, if you are passionate about it and if you know that your solution will change your customer's life for the better, then they will feel it.
Enthusiasm for what you do and what you offer sells your service or product. This is a secret that should not be underestimated and that no sales trainer will tell you. Why? Because they can't sell it to you! The only person who can develop this enthusiasm is YOU!
A purchase decision is rarely and above all never made solely on the basis of facts. Purchase decisions are emotional. Example: When Creative developed its MP3 player, the company wanted to impress its customers with facts and figures. The ZEN was supposed to boast 2 GB of storage space. Impressive for the time! But nothing to get excited about.
Apple is known for always being fully convinced that it can change the world. When the first iPod came onto the market, it was advertised with the phrase: "1,000 songs in your pocket"
WOW! There is so much in this sentence. Palpable enthusiasm and conviction for a greater cause. Apple wasn't about facts and figures. Apple was about making sure you can always carry your favourite songs with you. All the emotions you associate with your music collection, all the memories - right in your pocket!
Think about what your service, knowledge or product will positively change for your customer. Why are you enthusiastic about what you do? Live this enthusiasm and you will be able to sell successfully.
What I particularly like about it is that it's an honest and sincere way to win customers. SELL IT YOURSELF.
