Michelle has put together 5 tips for you on the subject of effectiveness. What are your tips? How do you manage to get organised? Leave us a comment below.
1. create a to-do list ✅
Make a list of all the things and tasks you still need to do. You can do this digitally in a notes app or in analogue form on a sheet of paper. It is important that you only keep one to-do list, otherwise you will quickly lose track of everything and forget your points.
2. set priorities 🅰️
A to-do list like this can quickly grow immeasurably. For this reason, you should sort the items according to importance and urgency. For example, organise the list so that important and urgent things are at the top and things with a lower priority are further down. This way, you can work through the list in order and can always be sure that you don't forget any important points.
3. create schedule 🗓
Create a schedule for each of your working days. Pay particular attention to your own biorhythm when planning. When are you most productive? When are your down phases? Use this knowledge and, for example, divide important tasks that require a lot of concentration into the period when you are most productive. Divide less demanding tasks into the down phase. Above all, don't forget the recovery phases that give you new energy!
4. eat the frog 🐸
This tip is one of the most important for me. 'Eat the frog' is about not distracting yourself from unpleasant things and doing them first thing in the morning. For example, if you have an unpleasant phone call to make, you should make it first thing in the morning. If you put it off all day instead, you won't be able to concentrate on your work and you'll be unhappy with yourself at the end of the day because you won't have achieved your goal for the day. So "Eat the Frog" first thing in the morning and you'll start the day more relaxed!
5. relieve your memory 🧠
Many tasks, appointments and thoughts circle around in your head throughout the day. It is important to take the pressure off your memory so that you can concentrate on the things that need to be done. Use a notepad or, better still, a magnetic board or pin board. You can record all your thoughts there and give your full attention to your work!
