The shark trade is booming. There is no end to the merciless hunt for sharks. Despite the ban, an estimated 100 million sharks are executed every year for their fins. The extermination of dolphins and other small cetaceans is similarly cruel: An estimated 100,000 of their species are killed every year. Simply because mostly illegal fisheries want to save costs and do not want to spend extra money on dolphin-friendly fishing nets. As a result, countless dolphins end up in fishing nets every day, which are then thrown away in an undignified manner and die.<\/p>\n
